A weekend of storms floods and freezing weather killed and injured across western Europe. Sailors from an Italian destroyer were lost at sea off Spezia. others were rescued. Germany saw wall collapses and laborer deaths near Bernhagen. Paris faced record Seine levels and 50 degree cold, with rivers elsewhere flooding regions from Cherbourg to the Pyrenees.
Boise report from Sept 7 states Mrs Myrtle R Davis state superintendent announces completed course of study for elementary schools. Changes include less home study and more geography instruction. Davis speaks from hospital cot where recovering from automobile accident injuries.
University of Idaho announces Paul R. Thing of Hartford Connecticut as acting head of the department of art and architecture. Thing has broad training in art and architecture in the United States and Europe. He takes the post during Prof T J Prichard’s leave of absence while Prichard studies at Harvard University on a fellowship.
Mr and Mrs C Edward McBri announce the birth of a son at Beck hospital in Blackfoot on Saturday. A son was born to Mr and Mrs Claude Brown of Blackfoot at a Pocatello hospital on Friday.
Will Rogers writes from Santa Monica revealing a humorous take on a submarine joke and golf chatter. He mentions Fred Stone as a friend and recounts following a champion golfer for 36 holes to learn how to pronounce his name.
Graf Zeppelin lands at Friedrichshafen at 3 45 p m completing a non stop round trip to Pernambuco Brazil. It marks her second Brazil voyage with 13 passengers and mail cargo. This 217th flight began August 29 from Germany reached Pernambuco September 1 and departed back last Friday.
Barney Dempsey gymnasium manager and brother of Jack Dempsey will be buried in Mount Olivet cemetery after funeral services led by former Bishop C Clarence Neslen of the Latter Day Saints church. The body arrived with his widow and brother Joe. Jack will fly from Reno to attend.
Amy Johnson, aviator, landed at Devau airfield near Königsberg on her return from Tokyo and planned to depart soon for Berlin.
A large crowd gathered at Ross Park for a Labor Day event hosted by railroad brotherhoods and labor unions. The program featured sports, a municipal band concert, speeches by Idaho leaders, free coffee and lemonade, and organized transportation from the Chaufferur Union.
In the first game St. Louis beat Chicago 18 to 8 after a 100 000 100 sequence. Derringer Mancuso Smith Hartnett contributed. In the morning game Cincinnati defeated Pittsburgh 11 to 6 with Carroll Kolp Styles French and Phillips delivering.

Georgia Harris ten from McCammon is treated for a compound fracture after a fall while roller-skating near her home. In McCammon, Mr and Mrs Walter Larson announce the birth of a son on Saturday at Level Hospital నిర్వహ.
Samushiro Japan Sept 7 soggy beach and cross winds delay takeoff for Don Moyle and C A Allen who planned a north Pacific crossing from Samushiro. They tested the plane, adjusted the propeller and tail, and hope to launch once weather improves, aiming for a great circle route near Vancouver Island.

The destroyer flotilla, La Torre, and O Higgins led a government assault, with five destroyers submitting at dawn and being overhauled for action against remaining units. Delaware Ohio hosts three day gathering of astronomers from across the United States for the 46th annual convention of the American Astronomical Society at Perkins Observatory Ohio Wesleyan University. Dr. Ernest W Brown of Yale University presides over the event.
Reports from Geneva Des Moines Washington New York Oakland Cleveland and Cleveland describe League invites Mexico UMW president labor wages federal jobs post office finances and a speed record attempt. Notable figures include delegates Hoover Bayles and Brown with various regional notes on politics economy crime and aviation.

Coroner B J Allerhe investigates the death of Harry Rose 20 after an auto accident yesterday in Idaho Falls. Police report indicates involvement from family members and that fragments of the scene include references to a 36 year old Thomas and an unclear railway incident.
Mountain Home dispatch reports Ray Bates a 40 year old Smiths Prairie rancher was found dead on his porch with nine rifle bullets. Searchers pursue Buck Davis tied to Bates before the shooting as Bates bay riding horse and a meal for two show signs of disruption. Sheriff Art Stevens leads the investigation into the fatal ambush in Fa pose county.
