Fire destroys Deaton cottage on South Johnson avenue
A cottage housing Mr and Mrs B C Deaton on the west side of the river was burned to the ground in the early hours. The furniture was saved and the building was fully insured. Firefighters laid 1800 feet of hose from the hydrant at Stephenson corner on South Garfield to reach the blaze.
