City council conducts a busy session approving the library tax levy auditing monthly bills and allowing repairs and additions to the fire department. It authorizes enforcement of a dog tag ordinance and outlines actions taken to fund public services.
Last night the council levied a one mill tax for Carnegie library maintenance, audited monthly bills to 2892.02 dollars, and ordered the finance committee to repair City Hall and erect a hay and grain shed. They referred N Cleveland Avenue repairs to highway and light, park issues to the park committee, and directed the police chief to wage war on untagged dogs.
The Portneuf river West side residents seek an arc light at Lincoln avenue and Fremont street. The council refers the petition to the highway and light committee along with several other requests for street openings and light at Grant and Fremont. A printed report audits San Francisco Relief fund disbursements with numerous donors from Bancroft and beyond listed in detail.
District Attorney Bell announced warrants for Adolph Segal William North and Marshall Collingwood. They face conspiracy and embezzlement charges and false returns to the state banking department regarding Real Estate Trust Company. The report also lists monthly bills audited and warrants drawn for city expenditures.
At the Idaho irrigation congress Senator Sleyburn attacked forestry policy in an over an hour speech challenging water conservation by forests. Forester Pinchot argued for forest reserves and irrigation links while attendees mostly sided with Pinchot in a tense evening session. Speaker lineup included Elwood Mead and Judge Stephen A Lowell among others with Governor Mead of Washington also present.

The 78 year old Mrs Giuseppa Maspero died at her daughter's home from senile decay. Funeral held at 9 am from the Catholic church with Rev Van der Donkt officiating. Interment in Mountain View Cemetery. Survivors include five living children and numerous grandchildren. daughter Mrs Castellini of Pocatello and descendants in Telluride Colorado.

A break in the transmission line of American Falls Power and Light caused the Tribune office to lose electric power for several hours delaying the newspaper’s print.
Mayor favors buying two vacant blocks beside the Academy to create a city park and turning the land over to the state for park use. Dr. E L M Laux proposed selling city lands near the fairgrounds and purchasing riverfront land for a park. Councilman Bristline moved to refer the matter to the park committee for an early report.
