Cook Returns From North Pole Expedition in Copenhagen
Dr. Frederick Cook arrived aboard the Hans Egede to Copenhagen after reporting to the North Pole. Crown Prince Christian and American Minister Maurice Eagan welcomed him as crowds swarmed the quay. Cook said he left an American flag and documents at the pole and described survival at sea and among Eskimos on return, noting long treks and scarce rations en route.
