A lifeboat disaster leaves three passengers dead as vessels capsized in shallow water. Survivors were swept from the scene as life savers attempted rescues. Authorities opened a search for remaining missing and warned of dangerous waves.
Tillamook reports the Argo steamer wreck after stranding off Tillamook bay. The death toll has risen to fourteen with three fatalities announced overnight and news that the lifeboat carrying Captain Snyder and ten others is lost.
A life saving boat carrying passengers from the steamer Argo overturned on Garibaldi beach near Tillamook. Agnes Hunter was saved while Mrs. W. C. King and three others, including two Hunter children and an unidentified woman, drowned as the crew struggled to right the craft. Captain Farley and others escaped.
The YMCA speakers committee announces Mr. J. P. Congdon, Oregon Short Line railroad raising engineer, will discuss Elijah and How to Meet Them. Lunch at 5, Bible Study to follow with Elijah the Coward and Elijah the Hero led by Rev. W. S. Woodhull. Prof. Holmes and Mr. Smith to present the two open discussions.
Boise Athletics lost 21 to 0 to Moscow university in Boise. University of Utah beat Logan Agricultural college 22 to 0 in Salt Lake. Butte High School defeated Granite High School 63 to 0 in Butte. Park City High School defeated Salt Lake High School 12 to 5. Academy of Idaho Bantams defeated Payette High School 10 to 5 on Academy grounds.
The steamship City of Philadelphia was successfully launched at Wilmington yards. The christening was performed by Miss Eleanor Reyburn daughter of the Philadelphia mayor.
Heavy rains push the Snake river gauge at Lewiston to nine feet, seven feet above low water, with up river navigation closed for the year due to persistent shoals making passage impossible.
A lone road one mile north of Frontenac Kansas saw a triple murder and assault last night. Mr and Mrs William Bork of Frontenac and their two and a half year old son were found dead along a road and in a nearby cornfield. Mrs Bork was shot through the heart after an assault. No motive or clues are known.
New York reports a dispute over whether Arctic explorer Dr. Frederick A. Cook sailed for Europe on the Coronia or boarded the Havana bound for Havana. H. W. Wack released Cook's side while banker John R. Bradley indicated strong odds Cook had departed on Havana. a man resembling Cook was seen aboard.
In United States v Moon and Barber the prosecution and defense clashed over trial scheduling before Judge Dietrich. He recused himself, handing the matter to Judge Bean of Oregon, who will preside in Boise on December 8 to hear demurrers, juror questions, and set the trial date.

Cordova Alaska November 26 The Copper River and Northwestern railroad will begin operating trains to the Tickel river mouth 102 miles from Cordova on December 1. The first 54 miles cost 5 770 000 with 12 bridge spans across the Copper river 4700 feet of steel and 2000 feet of wood. Winter headquarters at Tickel and Copper rivers where Fairbanks trail starts. Rails will not be laid until March. The Miles glacier cantilever bridge work 2 000 000 and the Bonanza copper field will see trains by December 1 1910. Total road cost estimated at 20 000 000.
The Union Pacific and Northern Pacific signed a pact for using the Portland Tacoma track, enabling Union Pacific and Southern Pacific trains to operate into Seattle starting January 1. UP owns Tacoma access and a Milwaukee linkage to Seattle Tacoma, with tunnels and terminals under construction.
