The republicans stand for sound economical government and representable citizens. The Duboisite Pope Democratic coalition claims to be the whole party in Bannock County. Voters are urged to compare tickets candidate by candidate and vote Republican after reviewing the official ballots.
A dated slate highlights Theo Turner for State Senator and multiple Bannock County candidates. Profiles praise education, property ownership, taxpaying status, and commitment to reelect Geo L. Shoup to the U S Senate. Other entries name Ingling Hunt Jensen Cohn Douglas Pond and Vanderbeck with tax figures and endorsements.
A political broadside attacks Democratic nominees William R Kirchoff Joan M Cannon William M Gfe Harris Benjamin W Henderson Milo A Hendricks James Dwyer William Chester John B Mullen George H Fisher Anna Harmer and James M Knowles. Clarence Covington an 18 year old tinners apprentice with Johnson & Newman Ogden was killed when a 16 foot 2x8 timber fell from scaffolding at the new auditorium. Quinn narrowly escaped injury as the timbers collapsed during removal. Covington died instantly. remains to be shipped to Ogden. Covington's father works as a Southern Pacific passenger brakeman.
A smooth South African salesman charged $5 to $10 from a crowd at the Pavilion in Pocatello, then returned trinkets and finally took up to $200. After he left the audience erupted in threats of violence, but the conman vanished with the money while police pursued no immediate arrest.
