Two Marked for Death Threat to Blow Up St Mary's Church

Chicago May 29 Father Peter J. O Callaghan head of the Paulist order in Chicago and Attorney Francis K. Hinkley received an anonymous blood written note in a church crepe wrapper threatening their deaths and the dynamite destruction of St Mary's Church on Wabash Avenue and Hubbard Court. The letter, left in the church poor box, bears skull and cross bones and links the threat to efforts to obtain a pardon for Herman Billek who was sentenced to hang June 12 for poisoning six Uzral family members. Father O Callaghan said he would present the letter to Governor Dineen to aid the pardon effort.
