Reforestation detachments to reach Pocatello district Wednesday

Sixteen advance detachments of reforestation workers will arrive in the Pocatello district Wednesday under Major Parley D. Parkinson. Groups will detrain at various Idaho and Wyoming locations to begin camp construction and prepare for additional detachments from the east.

L D S Members Hold Conference in Pocatello

The 136th quarterly L D S conference gathered hundreds at the Recreation hall in Pocatello with speakers Rodger Clawson of Salt Lake W H Henderson A S Merrill Charles Green and William A Hyde. Robert Garbett named bishop of Fourth Ward succeeding Lawrence Clark. Choirs led by Lawrence Harris Dean Jensen and Henrik Jensen. Bee Hive demo led by David M Clark. Mrs A L Merrill spoke on mountain summer camps for young women. D C Watkins introduced Gunnar Berg of New York district scout council on Boys and Girls Tony.

Bombs Blast Havana Batch. No Injuries Reported

A large bomb and six smaller ones exploded in Havana last night. Authorities reported no damage or injuries despite the blasts and ongoing investigations to determine the perpetrators and motive.

The Pocatello Community Boys and Girls Band will hold its first meeting at 7:30 p m in the Dorion room of the Bannock hotel. Pocatello Municipal Band Sets First Practice Tuesday

The Pocatello municipal band will hold its first regular rehearsal Tuesday at 7 PM in the high school band room. L J Schnabel urges anyone in the city to join and bring instruments as preparations begin for a Memorial Day program. The band will meet again Thursday at the Adelaide Anderson School of Music and aims to keep the high school band together for graduation.
