Senior Engineer Jerald Christiansen Chosen for Commencement Address
Downey May 14 The attendance and scholarship committee selected Jer ald Christiansen to deliver the senior address at June 5 commencement. He earned a 93.2 percent average at Poca tello and 94.3 percent overall since joining the university. He led the Tech Associated Engineers as president and won the AC award for best engineering student, a 650 cash prize. At AA C he served as president of Alpha Gamma Phi and of AA E in 1926 27, the first senior spokesman from Agricultural Engineering in the institution’s history.

Wilbert Mine Opens Up Rich Vein of Ore
In Arca on May 144 a rich strike was reported at the Wil bert mine. A new tunnel at the 150 foot level yielded high grade ore with assays showing 750 ounces of silver and 40 percent lead in a cut sample and 870 ounces of silver and 60 percent lead in a specimen. Development has been ongoing in the new tunnel 300 feet below the old workings.

Twin Falls May 14 Miss Patricia Wilson daughter of Mr and Mrs Asher B Wilson and Howard Barrett son of Mr and Mrs John A Barrett represented Idaho on the Holland America Line Ryndam cruise described as a floating university. The seven and a half month voyage carried 500 college bound youths and covered five of seven seas. The party met Miss Wilsons parents at New York on the ship return and visited Washington DC where Mr Wilson attended a Chamber of Commerce meeting. Miss Wilson completed a general course equivalent to first year college work during the cruise.
