Washington reports a calmer mood as no major anti foreign outbreak followed China tensions. Three American destroyers arrived and three cruisers move from Honolulu to support potential defense of international settlements.

Japanese forces arrived to bolster the landing.
Paris reports no evacuation of the Shanghai concession is planned. France keeps 2000 to 3000 well armed troops in the international settlement and coordinates with British General John Dunes but sees no need for a single allied command.
Leaflets and handbills circulated in Shanghai urge responsibility for the Nanking incident to the British and call for a boycott of British goods. Antiforeign sentiment rises in native districts as nationalist speeches denounce foreigners and a mass meeting supports intensified boycotts and retrocession of foreign settlements.

Will H. Dilg of Chicago founder of the Isaak Walton League of America died in Washington after a yearlong illness. He promoted a national conservation department to engage the White House with President Coolidge. Dilg formed the league four years ago and led it as president for three years as membership grew from 40 to 300000 with over 2000 chapters. He was 58.
