The AP reports that U S ration coupons allow up to two pounds of meat or 8 1/5 pounds of hamburger per person weekly, with shoppers balancing butter lard cheese and canned fish. Most will buy less to reserve coupons for other staples, totaling 16 points weekly at about eight points per pound.
The OPA unveiled March 29 point values for beef and other meats, detailing per pound scores for porterhouse to rump cuts. The plan aims to equalize meat supplies after heavy military Demand, with most common grocery staples remaining rationed and restaurants limited by coupons.
In Burrville near Richfield Utah Charles E Burr a 50 year old farmer was killed by a shotgun blast after a long running feud with W A Lipsey 68 lodged in jail Lipsey faces murder charges. Sheriff said the men fought over water before Burr was found in the road.

Kathleen Forden wife of Charles F. Forden of 156 South Eighth died at home Tuesday morning after a lingering illness. Born Kathleen McCoy in Marysville Kansas she moved to Pocatello in 1897. She married Charles F. Forden in Ogden in 1899 and leaves a daughter Rosalie and brother H G McCoy. Funeral mass at St. Anthony's at 8 a.m. Thursday with rosary at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday in Downard chapel. Body to Portland for burial in Portland mausoleum.
