Three enemy submarines sunk a medium size American merchant ship off the Atlantic coast early Sunday. Two torpedoes hit the engine room, sending the ship to the bottom. Crash Injury Takes Life
TWIN FALLS Idaho resident James Robert Standlee 58 of Hansen died Wednesday at the county General hospital from internal injuries after a two car crash south of Twin Falls Tuesday morning. Ben Ross 35 of Hansen, driver of the other vehicle, pleaded guilty to running a stop sign and reckless driving and was fined 50 dollars plus costs by Judge C A Bailey and placed in county jail unable to pay. County attorney Everett M Sweeley said manslaughter charges may be filed against Ross. Standlee leaves a wife and six grown children.
