Federal forces tighten hold around Carranza as authorities report decisive battle likely. Twelve troop trains depart Mexico City heading north while General Ojeda evacuates Agua Prieta and Sonora forces bolster the state of Sinaloa as official revolt erupts.
Dispatches from Hermosillo report Sinaloa has revolted against Huerta's national government and named a provisional governor. Yaqui Indians have volunteered to aid the insurgents. In Naples Diaz is to be greeted by Mexican consul J. Tramontano aboard the Adriatic on its arrival.
Mexico City reports two thousand Carranza followers are encircled near Lampasas Nuevo Leon by four thousand federal troops. A decisive engagement is expected soon as Generals Aubert Blasquez and Davila push forward. Dozens of troop trains head north toward Sonora while three columns move to Morelos for a campaign.
General Ojeda with 450 men evacuates Agua Prieta at 9 a m and marches west to Nogales. Federals carry arms and ammo while surplus gear is left on box cars. A 30 man guard remains at the garrison as Montara and others seek U S entry with supplies under a presidential permit.
Hermosillo the state capital is held by over two thousand constitutionalists who have fortified the town and hold five machine guns. Nearly every province of Sonora has risen to resist the federalist government as the push to subdue the anti Huerta movement intensifies.

In Omaha on March 12 Jacob Bender of Sutton Nebraska told the examiner in defense of the government's merger suit against International Harvester that a man would be broke if attempting exclusive handling of binding machinery. Defense witnesses said there was lively competition in the binder business naming five makes other than International. One witness sold less than half of the binders in his area were from International.
Captain Hayden at Key West naval station receives Cairo letter alleging Lloyds wireless operators copied messages from Key West. The 7000 mile distance breaks previous world records, vastly exceeding former ranges by over 500 miles.
The Arkansas Live Stock association closed its annual session in Pine Bluff with a large attendance. After the meeting members will travel together to Fort Worth to attend the fat stock show now underway there.
Belgrade March 12 allied Balkan nations accept mediation by the powers but only if Turkey surrenders the fortresses of Adrianople and Scutari and the Aegean islands and pays a war indemnity.
The Interstate Commerce Commission issued a general order requiring railroads to disclose under oath by April 15 any connections with waterborne freight or passenger transport. The data will aid enforcement of the Panama Canal law prohibiting railroad interests in any common carrier by water used in competition after July 1914.

Socialists nominate a full slate, while commission advocates seek control of the GOP convention to trigger a mass non partisan ticket. outcomes could yield four cornered races or unified fronts depending on primary results.
