Searchers found the body of Mrs Maud McCrary of Los Angeles hanging from a windmill at a Lockney Texas residence and her three children dead with throats cut in nearby weeds. A note suggests temporary insanity due to the extreme heat that day.
Edward Hines of Chicago testified before the senate investigations committee denying that lumber interests either lobbied for tariff legislation in 1909 or influenced Lorimer's election. He contradicted Mettler Lumber Co. president Herman H. Mettler who claimed Hines boasted of helping Lorimer’s election. The session also discussed the committee’s receipt of the full report on Stephenson of Wisconsin’s election.
London, June 30. King George reviewed the picked troops from overseas dominions and India at Buckingham Palace. The ceremony closed the coronation pageantry with Indian princes in striking dress, Sikhs and Punjabis beside khaki troops from Canada and Australia.
