Service Troop From Caldwell Wins Placard in Camp

Boise Idaho June 19 There are victories in the army in times of peace as well as war. The service troop 16th cavalry from Caldwell won the placard denoting the cleanest kitchen in camp at the national yard encampment. The band paraded the streets as mascot Billy Smith led the procession. The prized placard was displayed in their quarters after a thorough inspection showed service troop’s kitchen had a washed door and fewer hand marks than others. Colonel Edgar A. Sirmyer assisted with the inspection. If the service troop wins again tomorrow plans call for a new resting place with escort music for a military funeral. Captain Frank Meek praised the group's effort.
