Two Killed in Seattle Auto Crash

Two young men died last night when a light roadster collided with a Montlake street car in Seattle. Robert M. Manley of Tacoma and Ted Williamson, University of Washington student, were identified from wreckage papers. A third youth, Donald S. Gordon, escaped with minor injuries.

King Is Sent to Gallows in California Murder Case

Clarence L. King, an ex convict, was found guilty of first degree murder in the slaying of Minnie McCoy of Malvern Arkansas on the Redwood highway last February. A death sentence was mandatory with no clemency recommendation and will be carried out Tuesday. His wife Eunice Pardee of Corvallis Ore. cried as the verdict was read.

Acquitted in murder charge in Prosser case

Leet Vaughn of Fox Oregon was acquitted of first degree murder in the robbery and killing of an itinerant near Prosser following a box car robbery on May 28. He was convicted of entering the box car with intent to rob and robbing Vaughn’s two companions Eddie Tester of Pendleton Oregon and Jesse Tooley of Woodland Washington pleaded guilty to second degree murder and were sentenced to 10 years in the state penitentiary at Walla Walla.

Pioneer miner Sam Clam to be buried facing west in Montana tradition

Missoula Montana June 14 AP funeral expenses for Sam Clam 68 a pioneer placer miner were to be paid with a sack of gold dust he saved. Clam died yesterday and will be buried facing west in Deer Lodge in keeping with Montana placer miner customs. He had been a vigilante when Montana was a territory.
