A lone bandit stopped eastbound train No. 2 near Corrizozo, forced the Pullman crew to halt, robbed sleeping car passengers, fired the rear light, and fled into the desert. Passengers remain destitute as crusty guards scour the area and vow to pursue the felon.
Oklahoma City presses for immediate 1913 capital move as Guthrie backs the existing site. Tomorrow's statewide vote pits Oklahoma City against Guthrie with possible Supreme Court challenge and a second question to repeal a constitutional rail reform ban on foreign and domestic railroad property.
Several Democratic members of the house prepare for another fight against the deficiency appropriation for President Taft's traveling expenses. Dissent grows over the senate amendment making available 25 000 for the coming year, a proposal the house rejected on May 26 by a large margin.

He aims to match Cyelone Johnny Thompson against Pineta the Italian lightweight, a bout previously canceled for weight. If not, Cyelone may meet Pete Sullivan. Sullivan travels to Butte after passing through Pocatello en route to a Monday night bout with Maurice Thompson.

Rev Dr Charles A Dickey a prominent Presbyterian clergyman and former general moderator died at Presbyterian Hospital in Philadelphia after a period of illness. His death was reported June 10 in the city.
A federal grand jury indicted Western Union Telegraph Company on 42 counts alleging violations of the bucket shop law of March 1, 1909. The case claims the firm via telegraph wire and ticker aided a bucket shop in the District of Columbia. An additional indictment charged several individuals from Baltimore Philadelphia New York and Washington, D C with bucket shop conduct.
Theodore Roosevelt sails from Southampton aboard the Kaiserin Augusta Victoria with family aboard. He returns toward New York landing June 18 after quarantine, following private talks with foreign secretary Sir Edward Grey in New Forest.
The Tuxedo Horse Show association opened its annual exhibition in Tuxedo New York with a record entry list. Guests from New York Newark and Philadelphia attended the opening which features heavy harness saddle and road horse classes plus trotting races on the half mile track owned by the association. The highlight remains the carriage park rigs saddle horses and hunters and jumpers built for pleasure riding.
The Auld Brig of Ayr, famed from Burns Tam o Shanter, was formally opened in Glasgow with ceremonies led by the Earl of Rosebery. Attendees included representatives from literary and historical societies across Scotland.
A gentle but prolonged earthquake was felt last night at 10 40 with movement from north to south and east to west. Seismographs at Santa Clara college recorded the tremor lasting about three minutes.
A district court jury found William Stephenson proprietor of the Gate City drug and his clerk W H Mulligan guilty of unlawful liquor sale under the local option law. Mulligan was convicted earlier and Stephenson plans to appeal leaving two counts in abeyance. Henry Porterfield pled guilty as the go between in the disposal of a flask of booze. Judge Budge will pronounce sentence later.
Boston June 10 A general strike of twenty thousand to thirty thousand cloakmakers in New York was authorized by the International union now in session in this city. The convention left date and arrangements to a special committee chaired by Albert Block of New York.
The 1910 summer time card on the Oregon Short Line takes effect Sunday midnight. Yellowstone special to the park runs on the previous schedule starting June 14. No. 6 from the west arrives earlier to connect with the Yellowstone train. Nos. 7 and another train are limited with coaches removed for Pullmans.
