Swedes Send Prince To United States

Prince Carl of Sweden and American minister Frederick Sterling left Lisbon aboard the U S Navy transport West Point bound for the United States with 367 aboard including consular officials and staff. A Utah weather squall hit Salt Lake City with 50 mph winds at the airport at 4:25 pm. In 11 minutes from 6:14 pm, .20 inch of rain fell, followed by .28 inch later in the evening, totaling measurable precipitation for the day.

Tarpaulin and milk cans found in Idaho area report

Captain A L Oliver of the police says a large tarpaulin fell from a truck in Halliday street subway and is held at the police station. Elmer Smith and Deputy Bert Empey report two 10 gallon milk cans found under a bridge on the highway north of the Zweigart packing plant south of Pocatello.

Collisions Reported In City Saturday

Police report two motor vehicle collisions Saturday. At 10 47 a m a sedan driven by Roy D Martin of Seattle moved from the curb into traffic in the 100 block of South Second and hit Edward S Tauscher of 242 South Third. At 1 25 p m an intersection crash at Johnson and Bonneville involved Jack S Schiess of 312 South Lincoln and Leslie H Anderson of 935 West Clark with damage to a fender and rear wheel.

Keel Goes Down as Grizzled Pitcher Earnshaw Joins Navy

Baby’s Body Recovered From Irrigation Canal Near Emmett

Drink Kills Dog In Charleston Community

Charleston, July 26. Drink has killed Mrs. Allen Barnett s bull dog. The dog staggered home smelling of beer. A humane officer was asked to identify who was setting him up. no one admitted. The dog died after Whisky on his breath and efforts with milk and raw eggs. Mrs. Barnett offered a reward for information leading to the persons responsible.

Piglets Missing Then Found at Lake Erie Beach

In Sandusky Ohio on July 26 farmer W H Kishman reported five piglets missing from his farm. Police later recovered the pigs floating in Lake Erie near a beach twelve hours after the disappearance.
