Canadian American swindle gang swindles tourists in Montreal
Six men were arrested in Montreal as part of a joint Canadian and United States effort against an international confidence game. Police say the gang swindled tourists over six weeks, netting more than a million dollars, with $25,000 alleged from H L Christie of Chicago. Two suspects faced arraignment. more than $100,000 in profits are believed hidden in a vault. Offices were raided revealing bogus money, fake stationery from J P Morgan & Company, and dummy telephones and telegraph gear.
