Mrs Sarah Fechtel 81 died Saturday at 6 15 p m at 408 North Eleventh. Born in Rushton England January 3 1856 she lived in Pocatello 25 years. She leaves three sons Edward Fred Joseph all of Pocatello four daughters and 21 grandchildren. Body at McHan mortuary for funeral arrangements.

Ames Iowa July 24 Leon Prenn 23, ISU chemistry student and US Army ordnance officer candidate, says he has perfected a gas that defeats gas masks by removing soda lime. He claims it is a mustard gas and phosgene blend plus an additive, can be made cheaply from copper and zinc smelter wastes, refineries and salt, and may be stored briefly in case items. He warns only US has sufficient sulphur deposits to enable production and that the gas would act quickly without soda lime, though it supposedly degrades after months.
