More than 150 Hereford cattle roamed downtown Kansas City streets causing chaos as police and citizens tried to corrall them. A Santa Fe freight wreck near the yards damaged cars and killed 16 cattle, with estimated damage at 200000 to 300000 dollars.
In Pocatello today a parade marked the fiftieth anniversary of the Primary organization with over six hundred children ages four to fourteen. The procession started at 2 PM from the high school grounds, marched downtown, crossed the viaduct to Caldwell park, led by the Pocatello MIMC pal band under James Pasta, featuring floats and make believe circus animals.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police were ordered to intercept and escort four American geologists lost in northern Saskatchewan back to civilization. The party of John Fuller 21 Keokuk Iowa Peder Boddum 24 Crystal Lake Gordon Armstrong 20 Britt Ia and Max J Kane 22 Iowa City left The Pas on June 6 and were found in dire straits near Reindeer Lake. Their credit funds are exhausted and they depend on the Dominion for aid.
Martin Van Halder a Milwaukee mechanic was shot 11 times and mortally wounded by Albert Flattau the former husband of his fiancée. Flattau an escaped convict barricaded himself in the woman’s flat and held police at bay for two hours before being severely wounded. Van Halder 29 was taken to hospital where his case was described as hopeless.
In West Virginia on July 24 pastor J. Gensagara of Christian Temperance holds that his church was not used for political union activity. The dispute centers on whether the church can host such meetings and today officials decided to proceed with future gatherings.
AP reports San Francisco police records show 13,236 persons held for intoxication in the last fiscal year, the highest since 1910. The 1921 figure was 3,497, with arrests for intoxication rising each year since.
Senator George H. Moses of New Hampshire was named vice chairman of the eastern advisory committee and charged with coordinating national, senatorial, and congressional campaign work. Dr. Hubert Work announced the posting after a conference with Moses and eastern leaders.

New York July 24 June earnings of the Union Pacific were substantially better than a year ago gross revenues rising to 615,996,476 from 915,437,401 Net operating income moved up to 61,671,439 from 01,604.05 in June 1837. Rate income for the half 013,380,289, an increase over the previous period.
In Mexico City a national mourning day closed offices and schools as Captain Emilio Carranza lay in state. Soldiers guarded the casket while flowers from field peons crowned the shrine at the national palace. US Ambassador Dwight W Morrow and staff led tributes as the funeral procession arrived.
In Salt Lake City an inquest will be held into the death of Mrs. Hanna Shosted 58 of St Anthony Idaho who died in an automobile collision yesterday One occupant Ruby Williams 12 of Salt Lake remains in critical condition Basil Prescott Eureka driver of the other car was released on 5000 bond with no charges filed yet
The Idaho Portland Cement company completed its organization in Pocatello with permanent officers elected. E. J. Simons was named president, J. Tom O’Brien as first vice president, J. H. Neill as second vice president and general superintendent, and J. B. Maxfield as secretary and purchasing agent. Directors include Simons, O’Brien, Neill, H. R. Turner, and A. J. Lindsay. Groundbreaking planned by Aug. 15 with construction starting soon. President Simons also heads General Machinery Co. of Spokane.
President Coolidge accepts Dr. Hubert Work's resignation as secretary of the interior. The letter commends Work's efficient leadership and loyal cooperation, noting the department's high state of efficiency and the contribution to public affairs.
Boise July 24 AP Dr John Weeks Givens 74 father of Idaho Supreme Court Justice Raymond L Givens died here yesterday He led the Blackfoot and Orofino asylums serving as superintendent from 1886 until 1905 when he moved to Baltimore later living in Los Angeles before returning to Idaho to head the Orofino asylum until retirement in 1938 due to ill health
