Rome July 25 The body of the Pope lies in state at St Peter's Basilica as thousands from all walks pass the catafalque. Italian troops enter the basilica to maintain order amid large crowds and unprecedented military presence inside the church.
Oyster Bay dispatch notes President Roosevelt and his eldest son Theodore riding to Sayville Long Island to visit his uncle Robert Roosevelt. They traveled unaccompanied and planned to return tomorrow. Sayville report places the arrival at six o'clock and notes the uncle’s estate location a mile from town.
Governor Odell of New York and his party rode stage coaches early today from Medina to begin a scenic journey over the continental divide to Yellowstone Park.
