Acting commissioner of the general land office announced public sales of town lots in the government townsites of Heyburn and Rupert in the Minidoka reclamation project Idaho. Sales begin August 20 at Rupert and August 27 at Heyburn to the highest cash bidder.

Dreyfus Receives Legion Medal On Historic Field

In a ceremony at the military school courtyard Major General Alfred Dreyfus was awarded the cross of chevalier of the Legion of Honor. Officials attended. two batteries blocked the area as a symbol of vindication twelve years after his sword and uniform were broken. A separate note reports Sarah Bernhardt’s nomination for the insignia was rejected by the Legion chancellery.

Milk Wagon Runaway Drenches Garfield Street

A milk wagon driven by George D. Buseard ran away on Garfield Avenue near Center Street last evening. The horses bolted after the driver left a boy in charge to service a North Garfield customer. The rig toppled at Center, spilling milk and cans while a small boy and dog were splashed. dog escaped uninjured.

Pocatello Tournament in August attracts top gunners

The first annual Utah-Idaho Interstate Sportsmen's Association trap shoot will be held in Pocatello in August with sixty likely entrants. A dozen trophies including Idaho Falls and Winchester cups will be awarded along with $400 added money. Crosby the world champion and others plan to attend with a banquet to close the event.

Oneida County Republicans Choose Delegates To State Convention

In Malad on July 21 the Oneida county Republican convention selected 15 delegates to the state convention and passed resolutions endorsing Governor Gooding Senator Heyburn and Congressman French. The delegation was instructed to push for the nomination of W. E. F. Berah for the United States senate at the Poenteilo convention.

In Shoshone Wyoming Warren Moody town attorney and son of the late U S Senator Moody was shot to death during a late night ambush while returning from a neighbor’s dance. Witch of the Woods staged by Pocatello civic group

The Witch of the Woods was performed this afternoon at the Auditorium in Pocatello under Harriet Purdy Smith of Chicago for the Woman's Civic Club to benefit the free public library. The crowd included about two hundred participants and the show drew praise for its vigor and teamwork. A second performance is set for tonight at 1 30 and the final rendition Monday night as part of a bustling local season.

Elks Train En Route From Denver to Yellowstone Park

A special train load of Detroit Elks who attended the Mile High reunion at Denver, which closed Thursday, is expected to pass through Pocatello tonight or tomorrow bound for Yellowstone. Other cars from eastern points may join to visit the world’s scenery. The Pocatello group plans to return by tomorrow night, with a chance of a Salt Lake stop for church.
