G P Clark age 52 of 206 North Ninth avenue died at General hospital after a self inflicted .22 caliber gunshot wound in the garage behind his home. Neighbors heard a shot about 12:30 pm with police believing the act occurred earlier. A note found on an envelope dated 12:30 pm July 20 expressed despair and condemned the action. Clark leaves widow and children Verdis Vera Vergil Veryl. He worked as day clerk at Yellowstone hotel and previously at Guaranty Savings and Loan and Pocatello Mill and Elevator. Investigating officers included Guy Nelson Ace Nelson and A L Oliver. There would be no inquest.
La Paz reports a troop train with soldiers departing toward the interior of Bolivia as crowds in the capital cheer for the fatherland amid calls for war on Paraguay. In Greensburg a hundred people head toward Washington to join bonus campers, survivors of a larger exodus from Los Angeles. In Los Angeles Edward V Robertson advocates a sales taxation system for honest beer at the Lions Clubs convention.
