Galveston July 20 The capture of Villa by the de facto government cavalry is momentarily expected per a cablegram to Mexican consul Juan A. Mateos. A Villa messenger captured yesterday provided the location of Villa's hideout. Villa is reported ill and seeking medical aid, hiding in a small town near Chihuahua City.
Washington says a settlement of differences between Mexico and the United States via the joint commission is expected soon. Final approval by Wilson and Carranza is believed pending. Acting Secretary Polk and Mexican Ambassador Arredondo are in talks on the details to be conferred on the commission.

O K Brody a 21 year old rancher was sentenced Wednesday in Caldwell County Court by Judge Ed L. Bryan to fifty days in the county jail plus a 100 fine and costs for possession of intoxicating liquors in prohibition territory after pleading guilty. He waived a preliminary hearing and counsel and asked for sentence after the information was read. County Attorney Griffiths urged a deterrent sentence noting his wife and child, but recommended not the maximum.

Berlin July 19 Grunewald suburb adopts a numbered distribution plan to allocate meat. Each citizen receives a number and will be allowed to buy on set days based on meat availability, aiming to end crowding at butcher shops and ensure fair access.
