Idaho Governor C Ben Ross announced a special session July 28 will not divert sales tax revenue set aside for public schools. He seeks 350000 more relief funding and notes a cash balance of 500000 in the general fund by Dec 31 1936. Educators opposed reducing schooling shares.
In San Francisco a costly waterfront fire caused an estimated 50 000 to 100 000 in damage. Two firefighters Arthur English and Tom Cronin were injured but not seriously as crews fought flames fed by wind. The Kenass shipbuilding yard and other ships were destroyed or burned.
The Rocky Mountain high pressure system remains less strong than elsewhere with general cloudy conditions across the region. Pressure dips slightly over the plateau and temperatures rise modestly, while the north Pacific high remains stationary with clear skies and normal temperatures. The plains continue warm, and the middle Atlantic faces lingering cloudiness.
A car left a sharp curve at Sullivan dugway eight miles west of Montpelier and plunged 150 feet down an embankment killing Glen Slater and his wife from Golconda Nevada and a son of Garland Utah. The Bradford family were injured. Mrs Bradford and her husband in critical condition and their daughter lightly hurt. Afton residents aided, other relatives identified the victims.
Hailey Idaho July 18 W Lee Skandy Ogden attorney urged greater youth involvement in politics at the Idaho Junior State Chamber of Commerce banquet. He said 40 percent of US eligible voters are under 35 but under 36s have little political recognition and warned against government regulation harming initiative. Delegates from Boise Caldwell Nampa Twin Falls Burley Rupert Lewiston and Gooding attended as John B Robertson Twin Falls served as state president. The convention ends tomorrow with resolutions and officer elections.
The bricklayers and masons union held a Saturday night meeting at the Labor Temple presided by president Thomas Waller and secretary W B Jacobsen. Local members and a large out of town delegation listened attentively as Mr Hermon spoke on home building.
Idaho Falls July 18 Leslie J. Aker says a telegraphic money order paying his Democratic senatorial filing fee to Secretary of State Franklin Girard was not delivered before midnight July 11. He plans to seek mandamus if the issue cannot be resolved, after consulting his attorney.

Name changed to Idaho First National Bank of Boise to avoid future name conflicts.
Jac J. Schmitz a 34 year old mail carrier was held on $500 bail after Adolph Walter accused him of poisoning three Scotty puppies. The dogs died after reportedly receiving food from the postman.

P R Parry Idaho Republican state chairman blasted Governor C Ben Ross calling his move to call a July 28 special session on relief politics aimed at election gains. Parry spoke in Twin Falls with party leaders including ex Senator John Thomas saying the aged and indigent would have been cared for if Ross had not blocked it.
Nadine Robins, three, missing for 24 hours since a family outing, was found by searchers wading barefoot in a small creek near Maple Grove Utah. 500 volunteers had joined an all-night and all-day hunt for her, fearing kidnapping. she appeared unharmed and content cooling off in the mountain stream.
AP reports rebel forces gain control in Spanish Morocco with monarchists backing the revolt as labor groups rally behind Premier Santiago Casares Quiroga. Franco is said captured near Tetuan while Ceuta and Melilla are bombed and 110000 foreign mercenaries join the rebel side.
A train struck a car crossing a trestle near Dundee Michigan killing nine people. The victims include Harry Schuster of Farrell Pennsylvania and his family Lena Pisano Wheatland Louisiana and their two daughters Betty and Mary, along with others riding in the car. The wreck burst into flame and spanned the river and tracks.
Los Angeles July 18 The state seeks the death penalty for Robert S. James charged with drowning his wife Mary after placing her foot in a rattlesnake filled box to collect on life insurance. Prosecutor Barnes paints the crime as diabolical and notes a pattern across seven wives. The jury could hear next Tuesday with defense pleas pending.

James Johnson a 57 year old Arimo barber reportedly hanged himself Saturday night in the basement of his shop using a sash cord. Deputy Sheriff Dave McNichols said he was in poor health and despondent. the body was found by three men after Johnson had cut hair earlier at 5 p.m. Coroner Arthur Hall ruled no inquest.
In Erie Pennsylvania police hold 40 year old Samuel C Weed on murder warrants charging the death of his wife Irene 32 and two sons David 5 and Charles 3 with a hammer. Weed muttered of the devil within and spoke of a scarlet sin before hospital admission. The baby survived a few hours. neighbors found the victims early.
In Dallas at the Texas Centennial exposition's Cotton Bowl Violet Hilton, a 28 year old Siamese twin, marries James Moore of Cleveland Ohio. Sister Daisy, joined at the spine, says the marriage causes no rift and notes the couple faced residency laws elsewhere.
