A sensational rumor from St Petersburg claims that a large group of Zemstvoists and Decumatists favor deposing Emperor Nicholas II and setting a regency under the infant Grand Duke Nicholas, heir to the throne. Reported that a congress meeting in Moscow would be prohibited.
St. Petersburg reports four hundred seventy five thousand men have been called to military service this year. Witte had a final interview with Emperor Nicholas at Peterhof with Lamsdorff present indicating harmony. Witte departs for Paris tomorrow en route to America.
In San Jose on July 18 Aeronaut Maloney fell three thousand feet with Professor Montgomery's aeroplane and died from a fractured skull. He had risen from Santa Clara College grounds before about two thousand spectators. The craft swerved during a dip, tumbled, and crashed, killing him as bystanders watched in horror.
Port Townsend Washington July 18 last night's reports of the disastrous boiler explosion on the lightship Sixty seven in which several men were reported killed is believed to have been due to an error. The lightship which was towed into Neah bay this morning signalled all well.

A Paris medical commission found her sane. if granted, the divorce would end alimony of fifteen thousand annually.

Alexander O Miller a longtime Boise resident died suddenly at a Rabbit Creek camp after a hot spell. Miller aged 82 had a storied frontier life from Illinois to California to Idaho, and he owned Miller's addition in Boise. He leaves a widow and three stepchildren and funeral arrangements were not yet set.

John Schidlofska, a Russian wanted for the Belmont murder, was arrested by Sheriff Barr in La Junta while passing through on the Santa Fe. He confessed details of the crime, saying he killed his wife after a quarrel in a park and disposed of the body in a gully. He agreed to return to Massachusetts without requisition papers and will be held pending officers’ arrival.
The Idaho Supreme Court holds the trial court erred by sustaining a demurrer in the Wood River irrigation suit.
