Church to chair upcoming Liberty loan drive

Dan W. Church accepted the chairmanship of the next Liberty loan drive planned for October. The drive will be run by the same Bannock county organization as before, with a committee membership virtually unchanged from the previous campaign.

Americans Repel German Attack West of Chateau Thierry

The American forces held their own as German assaults battered the Vaux area near Chateau Thierry at dawn. Gas, shells, and heavy fighting drove infantry into cover, with American troops counterattacking and reportedly advancing several hundred yards. Reports also note German shelling reaching Meaux and an attack east of Rheims.
