London note details the Belle Elmore murder linked to Crippen home cellar findings. Shopkeeper recalls a night five months earlier with a woman's screams and pleas heard from a cellar, later found burned and mutilated. Mrs Crippen disappeared in February.
Dr H H Crippen practiced in Salt Lake City between 1691 and 1692. During residence his wife Charlotte J Crippen died with the recorded cause of death paralysis and apoplexy.
Missoula reports fires in the Colo Bitter Root and Missoula forests have grown uncontrollable since last night. All available reserve men are fighting the flames as a heavy rain remains the only potential savior for the timber country.
