A massive blaze along Coney Island’s promenade destroyed fifty bungalows and houses, six bath houses, 200 cars, the Pergola and amusement sites. Thousands were left homeless as two hundred people required first aid. two firemen were seriously hurt. Officials note the loss at three million dollars.

The extradition hearing for David C. Minton to Boise Idaho on charges of aiding Lyda Southard to escape from prison concluded with Governor William H. Adams promising a decision at 10 a.m. Friday. Neil Leachman identified the woman with Minton in Boise on May 4 as Mrs. Southard, a claim disputed by Minton who said the woman was Edna Taylor.
