In Chicago two men were slain in separate incidents. Jules Portugese a 24 year old convict known as a target for gangsters was found shot near a roadside with over 100 dollars on the bed and four bullet wounds in the head. Joseph Cicone a 37 year old lieutenant in the Genna gang was shot at his home after midnight. The gunmen fled after trading shots with a policeman. Cicone’s wife and six children witnessed the doorbell raid. No suspects identified.
