Veteran boatman Bert Loper of Green River Utah drowned when his boat overturned in Colorado River rapids 24 miles below Lee's Ferry July 8. E W Nichols Salt Lake City survived after clinging to rocks. parts of the boat were found at 41 mile rapids and a small monument was placed. Reds Reduce Truck Loads To W Berlin
Berlin reports that Russian authorities have sharply cut truck traffic to West Berlin on the Helmstedt autobahn to four an hour 96 a day with all other highways closed.
