Copenhagen reports that Helferich and Zimmerman plan retirement with gazette on Tuesday. Bernstorff is mentioned as a possible successor if Zimmerman retires.
Washington officials view Germanys internal political rift as the true obstacle to decisive action. They say dismissals of Zimmermann and Helfferich would be cosmetic until the army’s senior staff is addressed, while Austria seeks a liberal peace and German leaders rely on puppet civil officials to pacify the public.
After the Mooney and Douglas garage site is cleared a new Hill Garage company will occupy the building at Center and Sixth. Stanley Steamers will be based there and a full line of auto parts and first class repair service will be offered. The new firm includes Fred Dil Carl B Wilson and Carl Lukkam and plans to move in around August 1 with another auto concern sharing the facility.

London reports an air raid on Constantinople with bombs dropped on the Turkish cruiser Yvuz Sultan Selina formerly Goeben and a direct hit on the war office. British forces suffered no casualties in the raid.
London reports German forces breached British positions in Belgium on a 1400 yard front reaching 600 yards inland. The assault began after a day of heavy bombardment that leveled defenses in the Dunes sector near the coast, with bridges over the Yser destroyed isolating the sector.
Berlin reports that the German Marine Corps captured more than 1250 prisoners in the Weer district. The official announcement gives the tally and confirms the success of the operation.
London reports the sinking of fourteen British merchantmen totaling more than 1600 tons as the week’s losses, confirmed by official announcement.
New York reports the steamship Kansan with a fifty crew, mostly Americans, sunk presumably off the French coast. The vessel valued at 3.6 million dollars carried over 2 million in cargo including flour and 4000 tons of steel for the French government. fate of the crew is unknown.
Ground purchased by Mrs. George Robethan and others via E C White Realty. four lots form the site for a large new garage. Ground will be broken soon and the Gate City Auto company led by Richard Douglas and Ezra Merrill will occupy the building.
The Mexican rural population faces a looming food shortage due to ongoing disturbances. The National Chamber of Commerce has called a meeting of landowners in the City of Mexico to discuss measures to ensure planting and harvesting of enough crops. The aim is to cultivate large areas of previously untilled land.
Hobe July 11. Picketing resumed today with two men at each mine under a new rule. De pression followed the departure of Governor Campbell whose leave signaled little hope for an early settlement.
Sixty three men left Jerome as I. W. W. and strike activists arrived from Needles. Armed citizens intercepted the prisoner car, forcing its return to Jerome. Local authorities and home guards soon rounded up the detainees.

A quarter of the Essen plant is said destroyed with material damage in the millions of francs. About 100 workers killed and hundreds wounded. one or two French planes reportedly dropped bombs on Fasen last Friday.
Washington reports that Republican troops have entered Peking and expect the abdication of the restored Manchu emperor Hsuan Tung. President Feng Tsiao Chang orders the arrest of General Chang Hsun for the coup. Dr Wu Tingfang resigns as foreign minister.
Washington July 10. The Federal Trade Commission cites its past recommendation that government power be given to control news print manufacture and distribution. The commission notes previous antitrust prosecutions against printers and says an order to halt current practices would not provide immediate relief.
Washington July 11 The Federal Trade Commission issued a complaint against Curtis Publishing Company charging unfair business practices and stifling of competition by refusing to sell its publications to dealers who handled competitors' titles.
The Retail Liquor Dealers Association abolishes free lunch and a large beer in New York City due to high prices. The move affects patrons seeking complimentary meals with drinks as the city implements cost controls.

Washington July 11 reports set September 15 as the next Liberty loan with 3 billion dollars. Secretary McAdoo denied the reports saying he has not yet decided the date or the amount and urged the public to disregard such unreliable rumors. An official Treasury announcement will follow once decisions are made.
Lincoln July 11 Nebraska State Council of Defense charges certain University of Nebraska professors and Lutheran Church leaders with disloyal activity and passivity aiding Germany as an enemy. The statement claims these individuals have given aid and comfort to an enemy.
Ford agency will move after August first into a bigger building at Center and Sixth, sharing space with Hill Garage. J. D. Furcht is district manager, office now at 325 East Center. A large stock will be distributed from Pocatello and eighty new cars are on the road for the local territory.
Washington report says about 687000 men from the June 5 registration may be selected for the first National war army with about half exempted. A drawing date was tentatively set for next Saturday though not officially announced by the Provost Marshal General.
