Hundreds of miners and residents gathered at sunrise to expel IWW agitators amid a strike by the metal miners branch. Sixty seven IWW members were crowded into cattle cars guarded by forty armed men and sent to Jerome Junction. Only two revolvers were found during searches.
General Chang Heun withdraws troops into the Imperial City and the temple area of Peking as the Republican faction names Feng Kuo Chang president. Washington reports from Minister HReinsch note the Manchu dynasty struggle and the banishment of the emperor and imperial family.

Chicago July 10. E H R Green son of Hetty Green says he has received more than 930 marriage offers in fifteen years. He blames newspaper publicity for most of these proposals. A rumor tied his current visit to Chicago to an upcoming wedding, though he denied plans to marry a Chicago girl.
London reports Lloyd's Marine Insurance committee has lost 2600 wartime staff and now operates with seniors and youths. Last year premiums paid reached 35 million pounds, highlighting strain on the insurance market.

Five men D G Campbell Fred Tringle Babe Brown Frank Allen and Neal en Lynch were arrested and charged with receiving stolen goods connected to a burglary ring involving Jack Miller who was sentenced to the state penitentiary. Washington July 10 The last step to place the entire national guard into the U S army for service in France was taken by President Wilson with a proclamation drafting state troops. The draft date is set for August 5 and mobilization sites are being prepared across the country.
