Washington July 4 A Fourth of July amid political war and economic crisis. In four months the nation will choose a president for four years. A $2 100 000 000 relief bill is debated as lawmakers seek a remedy and political gain at Hoover’s potential veto.
Will Rogers comments on Roosevelt aviation support and political cannibalism within the Democratic convention. He jokes about California versus Texas, a defeated candidate, and the humor of returning home after the vote.
National league game notes show Chicago and Pittsburgh finalizing 9 to 2 in nine innings with Grimes Root May Malone Hartnett French Harris Grace credited. Brooklyn at New York and American Philadelphia at Boston had two games postponed due to rain.

Thomas F. Smith age two, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Smith of Sugar City, was struck and killed by an Oregon Short Line Yellowstone park train at a Sugar City crossing yesterday afternoon. The engineer reported seeing the child in time to slow but could not stop in time, crushing his head and injuring his body. He leaves parents and several brothers and sisters.
The holiday weekend in upstate New York caused 18 fatalities, nearly all from automobile accidents, plus one drowning. No fireworks fatalities were reported. Details continued on Page 10.
In Charlottenburg today Gus Tav Sonnenberg killed his female opponent and her attorney after a verdict in an inheritance suit, then killed himself in the court. The event occurred in Berlin with no further details on motives provided.

Mrs Minnie Kennedy Hudson mother of Aimee Semple McPherson says she may sue for divorce from Guy Edward Hudson after confirmation they live in separate homes. Hudson refuses to file for divorce and is found at her beach cottage amid economic separation remarks.
Roughly 100 Idaho United Spanish War Veterans and auxiliary members gathered in Pocatello for the state encampment opening. They joined a patriotic public meeting at Hutchinson field and plan joint memorials, business sessions, and a Tuesday banquet, with officers to be elected in the afternoon.

Bruce R. Ronald and Richard H. Storer of Vancouver departed St. Hubert airport at 1:54 PM Eastern to fly to Winnipeg then aim for Vancouver in a 2,445 mile journey planned to take about 21 hours. The Vancouver Sun aircraft carries 120 letters for the Vancouver post office.
Accommodations for 7 000 spectators are set at Hutchinson Field for the Days of Old Fort Hall pageant. Dr Vic Mae Powell directs for American Legion post No 4 with 250 participants staged by the Pocatello Stake Mutual Improvement Association. The two part drama covers 1805 Lewis and Clark arrival and 1834 Fort Hall founding with elaborate lighting, costumes and music.
