Man hurt self in home disturbance at Benton Street

Training Orders for 329th Observation Squadron Flyers

Captain Ralph Fry and Second Lieutenants Ralph Knapp and Ernie Mann of the 329th Observation squadron are ordered to report for training between July 9 and 22 in Salt Lake City. The unit, known as the Pocatello Squadron, plans a mass flight to San Francisco during the period. Earl Vance of Great Falls, a former Pocatellan, and J. H. Rearden of Moscow are also members.

Indians Join In Rites at Southwestern Powwow

Flagstaff Arizona July 1 Thousands of Indians from Arizona New Mexico Oklahoma Utah Nevada and other states joined in the 10th annual southwestern Indian powwow drawing an estimated 40 tribes. Crowds roamed streets and fairs rides wheeled to the beating tom toms ending with tribal dances and chants at camps.

Inventor of Sundae Dies at Age 76

E. C. Berners, 76, of Fond du Lac Wisconsin, claimed to have originated the ice cream sundae. He recounted that the treat began when he flavored ice cream with chocolate in Two Rivers Wisconsin about 40 years ago. He said a customer asked what flavor was served on Sunday, giving the sundae its name.
