Washington July 2 AP The nuisance taxes are abolished entirely at midnight tonight under the new revenue law with broader reductions in miscellaneous taxes. Tax breaks include removal of the two cent stamp tax on drafts checks and promissory notes and the theatre admission tax phasing to only apply above fifty cents. Jewelry taxes drop to five percent only on values over 30 dollars and watches over 60 dollars. Auto chassis bodies motorcycles taxed five percent, trucks and wagons over 1000 dollars taxed three percent, while auto parts and accessories see a 50 percent cut. Stamp tax on produce sales drops from two to one cent per hundred dollars. Many items are freed from old taxes including boats canoes candy knives livery hats riding garments and X ray films among others.
