Logan Temple President Dies in Logan Utah
Joseph Russell Shepherd, head of the Logan temple of the Latter Day Saints since 1918 and former Idaho state senator from Bear Lake county, died at his home in Logan after two years of diabetes. Born in England in 1865, he moved to Utah then Paris Idaho, served as Idaho state senator 1914 to 1916, led Bear Lake stake, and led the Logan temple. Surviving are his widow Rose Budge Shepherd, eight children, and many descendants. Funeral services will be held in the Logan temple at a later date.
