He says salaries of five to six dollars weekly push youths toward crime and aims for fifty men to donate one hundred dollars yearly for five years to fund the project.
At Cleveland annual convention of the National Brotherhood Welfare association speakers urged reforms to aid the unemployed. Dr James Eads Howe known as the millionaire hobo led the event. Missouri delegates backed resolutions urging Congress to provide year round employment and to pay transportation costs to the place of work.

Secretaries McAdoo and Houston, leading the national committee for locating regions banks, traveled from Denver to Portland and stopped in Pocatello for about twenty minutes aboard the private car National. They did not halt in Salt Lake en route.
In Muskogee Oklahoma January 27 a mob forcibly removed Benjamin Dickerson a Black man charged in the W A Chaffin case from Purcell jail. He was taken to Noble nine miles north and died from bullets in a related incident.

A 20 pound infant labeled parcel post was sent from Olympic to Hoquiam in a peculiar delivery. Assistant Postmaster Jesse Havens prepaid the bundle to the relative's home as Mrs. Havens was ill. Clerk Eva Smith oversaw the delivery about sixty miles away.
