London January 27 about fifty insane patients died in a fire at Colney Hatch asylum as rescuers combed the ruins. Officials say fifty bodies recovered and the inferno left nothing standing with melted roofs and ironwork. The victims were all women and the scene drew tears from relatives and staff.
