In New York a store occupier on Broadway opposite the Flatiron building files suit to declare the eighteen story V shaped complex a public and private nuisance. He cites broken plate glass from wind gusts, deflected currents, and business losses with witnesses including architects and wind experts.
In Denver on January 24 the Democratic joint assembly met with fifty members, one short of a quorum. Madden was absent with a doctor’s note, and the session adjourned to Monday. Physicians at the Union Protestant infirmary in Baltimore claim to have cured several blood poisoning cases with an injection of nitrate of silver. The treatment uses a ten percent solution in water, dosed at 1 cc of solution per 1000 cc of sterile water, with injections ranging from 400 to 1000 cc into the large elbow vein.
