Twenty two hundred miners on the Pennsylvania Division walkout causing mine closings as Eastern System remains tied up. Reported lack of agreement prompts replacements demand and ongoing disruption with no settlement in sight.
Albany reports a ten mile wide strike by five thousand Delaware and Hudson employees after two men were not rehired following discharge for alleged disobedience. The strike spans from Rouse's Point New York to Wilkesbarre Pennsylvania and includes engineers firemen conductors trainmen and telegraphers. The railroad seeks state and federal mediation to resolve the walkout.
