Idaho state game warden R. E. Thomas presented to the legislature a plan to ban dude ranches within state game preserves. The proposal also tightens fishing seasons and hunting limits, aiming to curb landholders already operating sanctuaries from converting them into dude ranches.
The Prince of Wales and Prince George landed at Le Bourget France after leaving London England for an 18 000 mile journey. They will travel via Paris Santander and board the liner Oropesa to cross the Atlantic on a two month tour visiting major South American cities.
The Power Commission reversed last month’s action and reinstated William V. King as chief accountant while declining to reemploy Charles A. Russell, formerly solicitor. The firings sparked senate criticism of the commission and a presidential resolution request that Hoover resubmit three commissioners, which he declined. Snow expected in the northwest tonight, warmer northern areas.

Boise January 16 AP Lieutenant Governor G P Mix attacks the federal farm board for not tackling the wheat surplus. He urges a $150 million yearly plan for two years to buy marginal wheat lands for reforestation or domain return. He says buying 10 million acres annually would remove 140 million bushels from the market. Baldridge suggests silver-backed purchase power. Ray McKalg says the state Grange opposes.

F Edson White leading Armour and Company from a checker to president died in a seven story fall from a bedroom window in his North Side residence. Coroners ruled it an accident linked to a prior fall that left him dizzy. White began as a car checker, rose to district manager, director, vice president, and became president in 1923 succeeding J Ogden Armour.
Word reached here of the death of Mrs Harriett R Kidd long a city resident living with her son James in Seattle She is survived by two sons James and Robert both of Seattle a daughter Mildred county nurse at Walla Walla and the widow of Wm Kidd a conductor killed 19 years ago in a train hold up They resided on South Fifth avenue Also surviving are sisters and brothers including Rebecca Pilgrim H J Just Nell Toolson Andrew Flack Ernest Pilgrim and John Pilgrim The body is expected to be shipped here for interment beside her husband and daughter in Mountainview cemetery
