Bearcat Wright confesses in Idaho train shooting case
In Pocatello last night Jesse Johnson known as Bearcat Wright confessed to detective Volkmeier while en route to Montpelier after a double shooting in which he admitted killing Will Derrick and firing at Lucile Burks in a North Second avenue room. He claimed 27 years old, born in Galveston Texas, met Burks in Laramie and moved to Idaho with her in 1927. Wright fled after the killings then rode freight to Montpelier where he was arrested by Short Line guard Clarence Wilson.
