Police capture two men believed to be part of the Overland Limited train robbery crew in Ogden. E Lewis and Pete Murphy are named principals with two companions, Odell and Shafer acting as fences. No trace of the loot has been found.
Chief Browning announced the arrest of four men, W. Lewis age 39, H. Shafer age 23, Thomas Odell age 28, and Pete Murphy age 37, in a local rooming house for the January 2 Westbound Overland Limited robbery near Reese Utah. A pillowslip was found. loot trace efforts continue. The four are jailed with an armed guard, and a beneficiary identified the suspects.
Bannock county officials meet to set policy for handling contagious diseases among the indigent. City police to take affected individuals to the pest house. county funds cover care and fumigation before release. Contracts for care at four dollars per day for single patients and three dollars for multiple cases approved.
Six overland trains stalled between the summit and Blue Canyon were started westward after the Sierra Nevada snow blockade was cleared. East bound trains blocked by snow between Colfax and Reno also moved as the final slide near Cisco was cut through. Telegraphs remain irregular on the Southern Pacific line. In eastern Washington and northern Idaho high winds and bitter cold eased with a light snow leaving the Great Northern main line clear for the first time since Sunday.
At a meeting in Downey last Monday the Portneuf Marsh Valley company re elected the officers: President D W Standrod Vice President Joseph Burns Secretary T M Edwards and Treasurer George T Hyde. Charles Mull of Twin Falls was elected a director replacing L E B Wetling of Lincoln Nebraska. Other directors are H C Harkness McCammon and P H Marley Los Angeles.
Hot Springs Arkansas January 14. Meagre reports from Benton Arkansas say two are dead and a third fatally injured in a race riot.
Promptly on schedule the farmers' industrial and educational special train from Salt Lake arrived in Pocatello at 2 45 with a committee from the Idaho Academy and the Pocatello Commercial club to honor agr icultural experts aboard. Lectures were delivered in day coaches to farmers and local business people before the train continued to Blackfoot and Idaho Falls.
Former Idaho governor H. Brady declares he did not profit from land deals or state lands during his term. He calls for a fair impartial inquiry by a nonpartisan commission and urges the public to hear its findings.

Tom Haines the colored man who last December shot and killed Miss Sadie White and then shot himself was escorted from the county jail to Justice Felix Van Reuth for preliminary examination on a murder in the first degree charge. He waived examination and was held without bail to the district court. He later recovered enough to be kept in the county jail. Haines may plead guilty when arraigned.
Charles Williams age 16 was arrested in Hoffman Missouri in connection with the deaths of Soney Stoffle age 14 and Roy Pledge age 17 who were struck by a freight train after Stoffle was hit with a stone and fell unconscious on the track authorities say Pledge tried to help Stoffle before the train strike.
Kansas City Jan 14 Mrs Carrie Nation who had a nervous breakdown yesterday is reported seriously ill this morning. Her physician says she will likely be bedbound for several weeks. Wheat futures Chicago Jan 14 May wheat closed 10144.
A Managua dispatch reports General Duron has captured almost all Choluteca province in favor of Manuel Bonilla. Duron’s forces are said to be marching toward Tegucigalpa, the capital, as the uprising continues.
President F H Hilliard of Weeter Lumber leads the newly formed Commercial Club with Miles F Reed of the Academy of Idaho as vice president, D Worth Clark of Clark Budge as treasurer, and H C Coker as secretary and publicity expert.
At an adjourned meeting the Poatello Commercial Club elected Hilliard unanimously as president with Reed as vice president and Clark as treasurer. Coker becomes secretary with a $50 monthly salary after a constitutional amendment allows the outside appointment. The reorganized club vows growth and strong leadership for Gate City Poentello.
