A fugitive slayer who killed two women and a college student held off 12 deputy sheriffs for eight hours in Jefferson City Tennessee before a dynamite entry forced him from a basement home. W B Johnson was wounded but alive.
Will Rogers told attorneys at a $30,000,000 Ford tax suit he would invest $100 in Henry Ford’s company now. He praised Ford and said he would tell Ford of his plan that afternoon as A. W. Gress warned of possible subpoenas. Rogers noted Rosetta V. Hauss profited from Ford stock in 1903 and 1919.
Robert F. Wolfe publisher of the Columbus Dispatch and the Ohio State Journal was killed today after falling from the roof of the Dispatch building. A banker and shoe manufacturer, he reportedly became dizzy before dropping from the five story height to the street below.

The committee says Congress favors no less than 118750 men with possible additions as recruiting allows. It notes a supplemental estimate is sought to raise enlisted strength to 115000 by year end and overrode a budget cut to provide 25000 for Narragansett Bay maneuvers with the Navy.
