A rear end crash on the Short Line near Arcadia Oregon injured several crew and passengers. Engineer W G Busted died at midnight from his injuries. The cause remains undetermined as a board of inquiry will fix the blame.
About 8:30 last night Train No 27 Boise to Huntington collided with a westbound freight at Arcadia Oregon. Engineer W G Busted died several hours after. Conductor Leland Ready and Fireman Victor Eggers were injured. others escaped. Busted died at Boise hospital after a special train carried him. Traffic delayed four hours. Drs Murray and Numbers aided victims. Superintendent Jones led inquiry efforts.
The Academy Senior class beat the Y M C A 23 20 per scorekeeper records. Adjustments credit three baskets to Y M C A making 26 23. spectators agree the baskets were scored. Deciding game set for next week.

Marshfield Ore January 13 The steamer Czarina lay wrecked on Coos Bay bar as breakers broke over her. From shore six men lashed to the last mast waited to be rescued while life savers could not reach them. Of 31 aboard only two had been saved. Survivors seen on the wreck include Captain Duggan Harold Mills the sole passenger Purser Gorges and First Officer Hughes.
