Oregon Short Line Pension Plan Retires at Seventy

Salt Lake City Jan 18 The Oregon Short Line Railway company completes its pension system for employees. Officers and crew reaching seventy are retired while those sixty five and older may retire. Incapacitated workers may retire at sixty one. Plan covers twenty years service with one percent of average monthly pay per year of service for ten years preceding retirement.

Hailey Banker Rescued After River Jump Attempt

W H Watt prominent Hailey Idaho banker tried to end his life by leaping from Morrison street bridge into the Willamette River in Portland. He was rescued and is under physician care, believed to have suffered a temporary mental lapse. his Denver registration delayed identity disclosure.

Judge rules state tax on banks invalid for national banks

Not Against National Banks Judge Stewart rendered a decision in the case State v. Boise City and First National banks. He sustained the demurrer of the defendants concerning the license tax, holding state law cannot be enforced against national banks as it conflicts with federal law. Defendants were represented by R.
