A dynamite blast in a shaft at Holmesturg near Philadelphia injures six and kills one man who was blown to pieces. The explosion partially wrecked the women’s wing during breakfast, causing panic before all evacuees were removed to safety.
A Salt Lake Herald special reports bitter factions in the Republican caucus over Senator Heyburn. By 4 pm twenty eight members pledged to Heyburn while six ex Sheep and Standred men joined Borah. Borah supporters claim they were betrayed and warn of possible but unlikely holds.
James T. Young once known as James Armstrong, wanted for complicity in the murder of Geo Gam, a Chinese gardener, was located in the Colorado penitentiary in Cañon City. He had been arrested in Florence for burglary and sentenced to ten years, and is now being sent back to Ogden for trial.
The Marconi Wireless Telegraph company of Ottawa has filed notice with Parliament requesting incorporation to operate across British North America the British Isles Europe and on the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.
