Four Die In Express Train Collision In Fog
Ashchurch Gloucestershire January nine reports four persons killed including the engineer when an express passenger train at fifty miles an hour crashed head on into a freight train in fog. Several coaches smashed and ten hours passed before bodies were recovered as rescuers worked amid wreckage. The express guard, with a broken arm, crawled free and aided rescuers bringing eight people from a telescoped car.

Vincent J Burnelli designer and Paul W Chapman financier plan a fleet of 20 or more with cross country service to Washington and San Francisco. The 90 foot wingspan 47 foot length all metal construction carries 1000 gallons of fuel and 2410 miles range at 115 mph. The luxuriously appointed cabin includes running water kitchen steward service and sound proof walls. Lieutenant Leigh Wade rode as test pilot.
